THE AUTHOR

Jessica Kern, Ph.D., MS, CPT, CNC, is a scientist, educator, inventor, and consultant whose work bridges environmental health, workplace performance, and human-centered learning. As the founder of Canary Consulting LLC, she helps organizations and individuals apply evidence-based strategies to improve wellness, productivity, and the environments where people live, learn, and work. Dr. Kern earned her Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Learning, Design, and Technology and is the inventor of two U.S. design patents. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in analytical laboratories, higher education, and scientific research, she is passionate about making science accessible, practical, and deeply personal. Lazy Lab is her first book, offering an honest look at life inside the laboratory while exploring the resilience, humor, and humanity behind scientific discovery.
